*Shani dear RiA-ders! Muli Shani?
As discussed in our previous post, sourcing deals in Africa is a very tricky exercise and developers and investment firms would spend on average more than USD 450,000 to secure the right projects for them.
Renewables in Africa has decided to address the problem head on and we are launching a workshop on Wednesday 27 November at City Business Library, London.
What do you expect to see at the workshop?
- Markets insights on Renewable Energy across the continent?
It is an important step that we recommend you understand prior to elaborating your strategy and deciding on your implementation plan. Since 2011 and the start of South Africa REIPPP programme, the sector and in particular the solar and wind industry has gone through a serious inflexion points. Today, many other nations in the continent and beyond and looking to emulate part of this programme.
- Deeper understanding of the solar Market
Solar is currently the darling of the global industry and it is certainly true as well in the context of the African continent. The cost of solar in Africa has decreased by more than 50% compared to 2010 to oscillate between USD 1.15 per MW and USD 2 per MW. This fact has had a tremendous impact on the penetration of the technology. More will be explored at the workshop.
- A structured framework to source bankable projects
This third element is probably the most important. As explained in the previous articles, many developers and investors are still relying on the “ask-a-guy” approach to source their projects. Just like a company will design a structured approach and work with professional to recruit the best executive for them, we argue that the deal sourcing should follow the same good principles. We will explore in more details what the method entails.
- BONUS: List of current projects RiA is involved on
Last but not the list, we would want to make sure you do not leave the session empty-handed and would be providing a list of the most interesting projects we are currently dealing with in Africa and South-east Asia.
Still reading? You are probably curious about the method and would want to find out more correct? We are inviting you to Register on this link and join us on Wednesday 27 November. Early Bird seats will end on Monday 04th November. Places are Limited.
PS: This is our 1st Workshop and we are intending to roll it out in other places in the near future.
